The accounts on this page are real ghost stories. They were sent to us by our readers or something we found while doing research. These are not fictional accounts created to scare the pants off you like the ones on this page.
It’s not surprising that a good part of the population believes in ghosts. To a believer, it seems natural – just as natural as newborn babies or grandparents passing away. Life is a cycle and in life, things don’t always go as planned. It’s a fact of life that “life happens.”
Why should we think that after death things go perfectly? Things happen, people don’t react well to their dying circumstances or they just don’t know they passed over. In which case, they tend to linger and don’t make the transition well. Such a situation isn’t a matter of horror, it’s just a matter of someone not taking things well or being unsettled. They have to sort things out or change their minds sometimes.
Because of this, most true accounts are not scary or horrifying, as some people would like you to believe. Many of them are touching, poignant or even sad as the living become intertwined with the activities of the dying or dead. Who wants to leave the people they love? I’m sure there are those who do, there are always exceptions to the rules. But for the most part leaving/death/dying tends to be sad because the departed are leaving us behind…or so they think.
Matters like this can be startling to us, the living, when suddenly Uncle George decides to make himself known and ring a bell in the other room without the use of an physical means. But other than catching us off guard, it’s not really scary.
At any rate, we’ll be expanding this page as soon as we can and as much as we can. We hope you’ll send us your account, too, so we can post it on our site or share it in our magazine.
We hope you enjoy and will come back often to read the real ghost stories we publish here. In addition to getting a glimpse of life on the other side, there can sometimes be lessons we can take with us as we continue down life’s path.
And as always, thank you for visiting!
The Black-Eyed Girl – Over in the county of Staffordshire in England, is a forest called Channock Chase. It is there that a little girl has been spotted wandering the woods alone. She appears to be about 10 years old and has black holes where here eyeballs should be. Sometimes she giggles, sometimes she screams, but she always terrifies whoever sees her.
